CHICAGO, IL – And now, a lesson from ancient Greece that has found its way to modern-day Chicago. We’re talking about Lysistrata, the 411 BCE play that combines sex and war, or rather no sex until there was no war.

The increase in the number of gang-related murders in Chicago has prompted a Windy City woman to suggest other Chicago women do what the women of Athens did in the play: withhold sex from their men until their men stop killing each other.

Spike lee’s new flick, Chiraq, is the latest telling of this ancient tale. And, it’s set in Chicago.

But apparently the ladies of Chiraq are more successful in trading peace for piece than the real ladies of Chi-Town.

April Dawson started her sex strike on social media and with a petition on Change.org.

But so far, she only has fewer than 100 ladies to agree, in her words, to close the candy store.

The ladies of Greece needed the help of the goddesses.

The ladies from Chicago may need a lot more help than that.
