KATY - The University Interscholastic League (UIL) will hold an emergency meeting Thursday morning at 10am to discuss a possible eligibility violation involving Katy.

Katy (13-0) is currently scheduled to face Manvel (11-2) this Friday at NRG Stadium. The outcome of the hearing could affect Katy’s upcoming playoff game, according to the meeting agenda posted by the UIL.

The UIL has the power to disqualify Katy from the postseason, spokesperson Kate Hector said Wednesday. The use of an ineligible player results in a forfeit.

Katy football issued a statement on Twitter saying "all verification steps were taken and all proper forms were completed by the student's parent and staff during this process."
