KATY, TX - These Tigers won't be caged! The UIL voted to have mercy on Katy High School's football team for playing an ineligible player in last weekend's playoff game against Friendswood.

The player had recently transferred to the school, but had not been there the required 15-days. The Tigers put him in the game for a few plays when the team was already up an astounding 66-0. Once Katy officials figured out he wasn't able to play, they self-reported to the UIL, calling it an 'honest mistake.' The school received one year of probation.

The good news is the team will continue their pursuit for perfection. They're 13-0, and play Manvel on Friday. The bad news is the player in question will not be allowed to play the rest of the playoffs.
