HOUSTON, TX - The Bayou City blew past 311 other cities to land at No. 15 on WalletHub's list of the "Best College Cities in America."

The study graded cities based on 23 different metrics, ranging from quality of higher education to crime rates to cost of living.

Houston was in the top of the class for its "opportunities" and did OK in "wallet wellness," but its "youth-oriented environment" gets pretty low marks.

Sounds like a good report card, but a couple other Texas towns made better grades than H-Town. College Station nabbed the No. 2 spot on the list and Austin came in at No. 8. In case you were wondering, Ann Arbor, Mich. took the top spot.

Houston might not be WalletHub's valedictorian, but it's at the head of the class for us.
