PALM SPRINGS, CA - Step aside Oxi Clean, and all that other stuff you can buy on TV. A new 24-hour home shopping channel, set to launch early next year, will soon be selling items many can't wait to get their hands on. It's called Gun TV, and the future network is taking aim at the QVC approach to merchandising, buy selling firearms over the boob tube.

The concept of buying a gun from a TV channel might sound controversial, but Gun TV states it's just meeting the growing demand for more firearms. According to channel, after a viewer buys a gun from them, that weapon is shipped to a licensed dealer near the purchaser where background checks are done. Gun TV spokesperson Eric Burgess says, "The mechanics involved for a Gun TV order are identical to what's currently in place for a traditional gun purchase. The only difference is the impetus for purchase is made from watching a TV show."

So in the end, it's doesn't matter where you get your gun, as long as it's done legally and safely. And if you don't like it, you can always change the channel.
