On this Day in Music history in 1770, Ludwig van Beethoven was born. The influential classical composer was born in Germany and lived for 56 years.

On this day in 1981, Ray Charles got his star onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

And in on this day in 1993, MTV aired Nirvana Unplugged for the first time. The album featured an acoustic performance taped at Sony Music Studios in New York City on November 18, 1993. The album would become platinum five times over.
