Houstonians are fired up for fireworks

HOUSTON, Tx. - If you are planning to ring the New Year in with a bang, then you are in luck.  Holiday fireworks season has officially begun.

According to the American Pyrotechnic Association, use of fireworks in the United States has skyrocketed.  It has grown from 4.1-million pounds of explosives in 1980 to over 225-million pounds in 2014.

Houstonians were spotted at local fireworks stand, Top Dog, stocking up for Christmas and the New Year.  Sales end on Jan. 1, 2016 so be sure to load up while you can.
