DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - Flames engulfed the Address Hotel in downtown Dubai near the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.

Witnesses posted breath-taking video and pictures of the 63-story hotel burning as thousands waited to celebrate the new year.

"The flames went up quickly up the center of the building...from my vantage point the left of the hotel burned very quite extensively," said Bruce Szczepanski.

At least 14 people are injured, and thankfully everyone got out safely.

It's believed a curtain on the 20th floor caught fire, but crews have not yet determined exactly how everything began.

Witnesses say they heard explosions near the site.  One giant burning glowstick didn't stop a fireworks show.

As the clock struck midnight, the fireworks show went on as usual, however, for many, it's definitely not the celebration anyone had in mind.
