HOUSTON - Carroll Oliver adored by those who knew him was gunned down in front of the McDonalds he owned in the Fifth Ward - was laid to rest Saturday.

Mourners gathered at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church to remember a businessman known for his generosity.

"He was such a great person," said John Washington.

"Everybody in the community looked up to him."

Washington says Oliver helped everyone and give food to those in need.

While police continue their manhunt, they say Oliver may have been targeted -- killed by robbers while taking money to the bank.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $35,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. If you have any information, call 713-222-TIPS. You can remain anonymous.
