HOUSTON – A father is recovering after being shot right in front of his wife and daughter on the north side.

It happened around 9:30 Tuesday off East Crosstimbers and Farnsworth.

Police say the man along with his wife and daughter had gone to the watermill to get water when the father was approached by several suspects.

The suspects held him at gunpoint and demanded money.

Even though he handed over his wallet, one of the suspects still shot him in the neck then turned the gun on his wife and daughter in the truck.

The man was taken to a hospital in serious, but stable condition.

The suspects got away.
