HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets have been struggling this year as they stand at 22-22 on the year, but they’re hoping a trade for Los Angeles Clippers forward Josh Smith will bring back some of the luster they had last season. Yahoo Sports Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the trade.

Smith was signed last year after being let go from the Detroit Pistons in December 2014 and Smith helped the Rockets reach the Western Conference finals. Smith left the Bayou City and signed with the Clippers in the offseason, but Smith has not been playing much and was posting career lows in both points and rebounds. For his career Smith averages almost 15 points a game along with seven rebounds. In 55 games with the Rockets last season, Smith averaged 12 points and six rebounds a night.

The Clippers are sending Smith to Houston in return for draft rights to two foreign players and cash.
