HOUSTON – It started out as a domestic dispute between an estranged couple and ended with both a police officer and a man in the hospital.

It happened at an apartment complex off Garth Road in Baytown.

According to authorities, around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, a woman went to a nearby clinic asking for help.

When police got there, the man was found sitting in his car in the parking lot.

The man refused to get out the car and instead, put the car in reverse and dragged the officer, according to police.

Police say the officer then fired his weapon at least once.

The man was airlifted to the hospital.

No word on his condition.

The officer was taken to a hospital with a hand injury.
