CURRY COUNTY, OR (KPTV) – A massive sinkhole has swallowed part of the road near Highway 101 on the southern Oregon coast.

The Oregon Department of Transportation said the sinkhole widened Thursday afternoon west of the highway in the town of Harbor.

ODOT posted a drone video of the sinkhole, courtesy of Kyle Rice, on Facebook and Twitter early Friday morning.

A full detour of Highway 101 was set to be in place by 9 p.m. Thursday. Advance signs along the highway in Curry County will direct traffic to the detour.

Drivers were advised to reduce speeds and use extreme caution along the detour.
