KATY, TX - De'Aaron Fox understands that even though he's just a senior at Cypress Lakes High School, he's already a role model.

"I just know kids are watching me, so I'm just trying to show these kids what they should be doing," Fox said.

He's not just talking about fans coming to his basketball games, but also the visits he takes to Cy-Fair elementary and middle schools to meet with young students.

Fox is what his coach calls a "scholar baller," balancing the fact that he's one of the top players in the country, while also earning good grades.

"It's helped my program, because when you see the best player achieving the goals he's achieving and he makes his grades, that's probably the better thing to brag about than what he does on the court," coach Emmanuel Olatunbosun said.

Next year, Fox will play at basketball powerhouse, the University of Kentucky, and ultimately hopes to make it to the NBA one day.
