LAKELAND, FL - A Lakeland woman avoided jail time after she used Periscope to broadcast her drunk-driving tirade last October.

Whitney Beall was on her way home after a night of alleged bar hopping.  One of her Periscope viewers called police and reported her.

She was arrested after failing a sobriety test.  So how did she avoid time in the tank?  Well, Beall didn't kill anybody with her car and it's her first DUI offense.  So, she pleaded no contest, and the court gave her a laundry list of rules to follow in exchange.

Beall got one year of probation, no drinking or driving for six months because her license is suspended.  The court also gave her a little extra workload for her social media irresponsibility, calling her periscope session a disregard for the safety of the community.  She also has to complete 150 hours of community service and 10 days of weekend work release.
