HOUSTON - Less craters in the road these days?  For today's Pothole of the Day we're looking at new research on the mayor's pothole plan.

Remember when Mayor Sylvester Turner said all reported potholes would be assessed and repaired by the next business day? Well, he was right. According to the city, 95 percent of reported potholes have been filled.

And now the truth has been verified.

The Kinder Institute for Urban Research at Rice University broke down the numbers.

"We were able to confirm that those numbers were accurate," said program manager Kyle Shelton.

The Kinder Institute analyzed pothole resolutions from January 4 through January 21.
