“Trail Riders” ride into town to start the rodeo 2016 season in Houston

HOUSTON, TX - Look who's moseying back into town. More than 3000 trail riders on horseback and wagons are hitting the Bayou City streets to bring the past to the present. The ride traditionally signifies the start of the rodeo season Houston. Giddy up!

This year, 13 different trail rides saddled up and stared their trek Scott Baumann, Chairman of the Trail Ride Committee says, "We got some trail rides that come from Mexico. Some start in San Antonio. And they all converge in Memorial Park." The last leg of the journey for these trail riders will be to participate in the 2016 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's Parade in downtown Houston on Saturday. Happy trails y'all!
