WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK - Stay thirsty my friends.

Surely you are familiar with this commercial tag line.  Well, after eight years, Dos Equis is saying "adios amigo" to Johnathan Goldsmith.

Oh, you probably know him better as the most interesting man in the world. The suave Latino who lives a life of luxury, intrigue and adventure.

The truth is, he's not a Latino at all. He's a Jewish guy of Russian descent who was a broke, out-of-work actor when Dos Equis put him on the payroll.

The iconic spokesperson is going out with a bang on a one-way trip to Mars. "Mission to Mars," the new 60-second spot, will officially launch during Thursday's televised NBA game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers, which happens to be the last match-up between Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

But, back to the beer guy!

Andrew Katz of the  Dos Equis marketing team says, "The most interesting man in the world is an idea that should endure."

No doubt! The ad campaign has made millions for the actor and the company. We took to the streets to ask NewsFix viewers who should take over the role.

"I think the guy to replace him should be El Chapo," says Joe Daddy Rios. He's even got an idea for the tag line: "I don't always dig a tunnel out of prison. But when I do, I like to drink Dos Equis!"

Jose Luis Balderas believes he may be the man for the job. So does Edward Umanzor who says, "They need some younger talent like me in the building."

The role is expected to be filled later this year. So, stay tuned my friends!
