GALVESTON, TX - Thousands of tourists kicked off their spring breaks on Saturday in Galveston.  Whether building sandcastles, playing football on the beach or just taking a walk by the water, the sunny skies and warm weather provided a great backdrop for families.

"It's really nice to see everyone coming back down and enjoying a beautiful day on the beach," Chief Peter Davis of the Galveston Island Beach Patrol said. "Just kind of use good common sense when you come down here. Remember, alcohol and water don't mix. Watch your kids. If you're around water and you're a non-swimmer or a kid, wear a life jacket."
