HOUSTON - It`s Good Friday so say goodbye to Lent. Yeah, like you did with those New Years resolutions about two months ago. Experts at Carleton University in Canada are dancing around the subject. Smart guys there say keeping a New Years resolution is harder than a Lent sacrifice for three  simple reasons:

  1. Church is community, so you're held accountable.
  1. You`re actually doing something connected to core values for Lent, so you feel committed to the cause.
  1. Lent is for a fixed 40 days and therefore has an end date, which we all look forward to.

So live it up. You made it and the best part is, unlike a New Years resolution, you have nothing to feel sorry about.
