MORRO BAY, CA- Looks like someone got bit by the love bug.

Michael Banks has got it bad. In a cellphone recorded proposal he said "you see this rock? This is the rock I would love to put on your finger. If I could buy a diamond this size,  I would, because that's what your worth to me."

The rock he's talking about  . . . it's 600 feet tall! The California man went to crazy extremes to make sure his proposal was as crazy as he is.

Did his girl say yes? Banks explains, "she says yes of course. . . you are crazy . . . you're either going to die or get arrested."

Looks like his fiancee know exactly what kind of guy she'll be spending the rest of her life with because --*spoiler alert*-- he got arrested.

Banks didn't understand why authorities were after him. "I shouted to the firemen, is there a problem  . . . you guys are rolling in by the numbers . . . I don't understand what's going on."

Homeboy was charged with a misdemeanor for trespassing and for being under the influence.

. . . And we're not talking "drunk in love" . . . No, more like "on meth and popping the question."

After going out with a bang, he spent a night in jail.

But Banks ain't even stressin' -- he wouldn't change a thing. "I would do it all again . . . she deserved something so unique that no man has ever done."

Congrats to the happy couple --  just make sure you ditch the meth before you say "I do".
