HOUSTON, TEXAS  –  Hey baseball fans! It`s time to root, root, root for the home team…..and hope there really is such thing as home field advantage.

Yeah….the boys in orange are back in H-town for the season`s home opener and they`ve had a rocky start on the road.

But, so what if their two and four? Now`s the time to turn it around and they may as well start doing just that in front of the home town crowd.

They are taking on the Kansas City Royals in a rematch of last year`s division series.  The game is sold out but the celebrating kicked off with the opening day street fest. The fun for the fans went on all afternoon.

Ricky Mason says opening day is the best day of the year.  Connor Smith says, “I think we’re going to the playoffs this year.”

Rick Salinas and son Ben wouldn’t miss it. “Father and son time. It doesn’t get any better, especially here at Minute Maid watching the Astros!”

Brittney Linn is another fan. She remembers last year’s heartbreak. “We’ve got to beat Kansas City. It was too bad last time. We’ve got to take it back.”

Felipe Ozuna drove about six hours just to be in the stands for the home opener.   “It was a very exciting year last year and hopefully it will be even better this year and we’ll go to the World Series.”
