WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sometimes you just gotta have a cheeseburger!

And this real-life "hamburglar" caught on camera must have been really craving a burger badly.

Police say the hungry burglar broke in to a "Five Guys" eatery in DC, helped himself to a fountain drink, heated up the grill, and started flipping burgers for himself.

There was no one else in sight as the guy even chats on his phone while cooking at the grill.

The cops have a problem because they still haven't caught the guy, so they hope someone recognizes him from the surveillance video.

Cops say after he finished off his burger, the crook swiped a bottled water on his way out, yet he didn't take any money.

But get this, the bold burglar faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted!

That ought to make any crook think twice before breaking into a kitchen again-- no matter how hungry they are.
