HOUSTON-  A business owner shot and killed a man Wednesday at an office building near NRG Stadium, according to Houston police.

The shooting happened at Community Health Choice in the 2600 block of South Loop West shortly after 12:30 p.m.

Police said a mentally disturbed man went to the health center and was told he would have to reschedule his appointment for another day.  This agitated the man, who initially left, but returned about 30 minutes later. The man kicked the glass door several times, causing damage.

He then walked to an office next door and began to kick on that door as well.  The owner of that business, and two women who were inside with the owner, instructed the man to leave. The owner was armed with a gun.

The man lunged at the owner, and the owner opened fire.

The man was struck once and died at the scene.
