HOUSTON, TX - It’s Memorial Day weekend! Time to book a flight, get packed and hop in a four-hour TSA check in line. With 2.5 million folks hitting the skies everyday, mainly due to extra cash with gas prices being so low, the TSA isn’t prepared.
American Airlines went on record, saying more than 70,000 of their passengers and 40,000 checked bags missed flights because of massively delayed wait times to check in.
And since the Screen Fast Act passed the U.S. Senate, designed to ease lines wrapped around 29 airports across the country. Legislation now calls for new equipment like automated baggage checks. Basically, if a bag is red flagged, then the affected passenger can be pulled out of line so everyone else can continue boarding.
The TSA’s also adding a feature to it’s app allowing travelers to know how long wait times are in real time.
Sounds like, “To TSA, or Not To TSA?” is actually the question. Just hope is doesn’t take too long to figure out the answer.
