Photos of murdered Plano woman left on Facebook for 36 hours

PLANO, TX - "It added to a different level when they were exposed to seeing this on her Facebook page," Plano Police PIO David Tilley said.

Jennifer Streit-Spears was murdered in her apartment Sunday with Plano PD saying boyfriend Kenneth Amyx is to blame, stabbing her and himself in the process.

That's disturbing enough, but the real travesty is that pictures of the grisly scene were posted on Facebook. Family and friends immediately requested for the social media giant to remove the two gruesome pictures of the bloody pair, and they were eventually taken down, but only after 36 hours.

Facebook said, "We remove graphic images when they are shared to celebrate violence. As soon as it was clear what the facts were behind this photograph, we removed it."
