SUGAR LAND - Forget the selfie stick, in Sugar Land there's something better -- a selfie statue!

Recently two statues were put up on Sugar Land's Town Square Plaza. One is of a man playing a guitar and the other is of two girls taking selfies.

Like the girls in the statue, people can't help but to stop and snap!

"I think its great, it adds excitement to the square," said Stephanie Chaglasian who works across the street from the statue.

"People are loving it," she said.

"I see people standing in front of it all day."

But some folks just don't like it, especially on social media. Just check out these tweets.

The city says the statues were donated through the Sugar Land Legacy Foundation.
