Caught on Camera: Suspect attacks man in attempted robbery at bus stop

HOUSTON — Houston police have released surveillance video and photos of a robbery suspect who attacked a man at a bus stop.

The attack happened around 6:30 a.m. on May 16 in the 600 block of Capitol.

According to police, a 37-year-old man had just stepped off the bus, and right before he was crossing the street, the suspect punched him in the face.

During the attack, the suspect attempted to steal his backpack, but the victim held on to his belongings. The suspect fled the scene empty-handed.

HPD uploaded a surveillance video of the suspect before and during the attack, as well as photos of the male who rode the train.

The suspect is 30 to 35 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs around 190 pounds. He was seen wearing a white shirt, black pants and a black hat.
