Boil notice in effect for the Rio Brazos area

ROSENBERG, TX – Residents living in the Rio Brazos neighborhood, in Fort Bend County, are being notified to boil their water before drinking due to flooding by the Brazos River.

Water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use to ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality suggest that oven temperatures should be set to high so your water can be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled For two minutes. TCEQ also proposes purchasing bottled water or getting water from another reliable source until water is safe to drink.

When the boil notice is no longer in effect, the water system officials will notify the area.
