HOUSTON, TX -- The Orlando mass shooting comes less than two weeks before the Houston Gay Pride Parade.
Sunday night, the LGBT community gathered together for strength and support.
Emotions were high as a large crowd gathered in Hermann Park to honor the victims of the Orlando shooting.
Through the tears and prayers for peace, there's still hope for change, as the community stood united with Orlando.
Mourner and LGBT member, Kim Frederick says, "Our community is going to do our best to make sure we take the proper time to mourn. But we are going to turn this into something. This does not end with 50 dead people."
There's another vigil planned for tonight at the Montrose Center starting at 6 pm.
