FT. LAUDERDALE, FL - One Florida man has a deep-rooted issue with Apple.  Thomas Ross claims he invented the design for an electronic reading device back in 1992, which he says Apple stole to build the iPad and iPhone.

Ross wants to take a big bite out of Apple, $10 billion and he's asking for a 1.5% royalty on future sales.  It looks like his design would have been larger than any other portable Apple device.  A description in the lawsuit says his device would have had solar cells, and a 3.5 inch floppy disk drive.

Ross may not have a leg to stand on in court.  His patent expired because he didn't pay the fees to complete the paperwork.
