Houston man shot while on his way to pray at mosque

HOUSTON – A victim was shot at a Houston mosque before entering for his morning prayer.

The shooting took place at the mosque on Bintliff Dr. and De Moss Dr. near Bellaire Blvd. around 5:30am when the victim was on his way to his morning prayers.

Authorities tell us after parking his car, the victim was approached by three suspects when one pulled out a gun and shot him near the mosque.

According to HPD, the man was shot twice and has been taken to an area hospital. Police are continuing to investigate but believe it to be an attempted robbery, and not a hate crime.

The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.
