10-year-old among 5 victims shot at gathering to watch fireworks on Fourth of July
HOUSTON — Houston police are searching for suspects who opened fire at a gathering to watch fireworks on the Fourth of July.
According to Houston police, a large group of people were having an illegal fireworks display in the 1300 block of Robin when three to four men began shooting at another man.
“We just know somebody pulled up. Someone shooting started. We don’t know if there was an altercation prior to that or if anybody was targeted specifically,” said HPD Homicide Sgt. D. Fontenot.
Five people were struck.
Three men died. One was 26 years old and the other two were both 29.
A 37-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy were transported to a nearby hospital with non- life threatening injuries.
