Teen arrested in fatal shooting of another teen in southwest Houston

HOUSTON — Charges have been filed against a teen accused of shooting and killing another teen in southwest Houston.

Al Hogg, 18, has been charged with manslaughter.

Hogg is accused of shooting and killing Bryant Demont Cavanaugh, who was also 18 years old.

The shooting happened in the 11600 block of South Gessner around 2 p.m. Saturday. Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department arrived and found Cavanaugh suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hogg remained at the scene and was taken into custody. The motive for the shooting is unknown but police say Hogg confessed to the crime.
