Shooting and house fire possibly related in northeast Houston

HOUSTON — Shots were fired and then an actual fire started Monday all on the same street in northeast Houston.

Both the shooting and the fire happened in the 3000 block of Kashmere and Crane.  Arson investigators believe the two are connected.

The family of the man shot said there's no doubt about it. Investigators said the gunman shot their family member three times for no reason. The victim's father tells us the suspect thought he was having an affair with his wife, which his family said is not true.

Fortunately, the man is expected to survive.

His family went on to tell us that the gunman came back and set his own house on fire. The gunman has yet to be caught.
