HOUSTON — The circus is in town, but it's not all fun and games.

Police are searching for an armed man wearing a clown mask after he allegedly attacked and shot a resident at an apartment complex on the southwest side of town, according to Houston investigators.

The robbery happened right before midnight at the Lodge Apartments on Corporate Drive, detectives said.

Police said when officers arrived at the complex, a resident reported being attacked by a crazed clown. Police said the victim had been pistol whipped and his neck was grazed by a bullet after the clown fired shots at him.

The resident was taken to the hospital, and is expected to be okay.

Meanwhile, investigators said the clown took off with some cash and is still on the run.
