HOUSTON, Texas — A man was critically injured in a crash following a shooting at a nightclub late Friday.

According to Houston Police Department, a man in a Dodge Charger fired shots outside a Midtown club at 11:00pm, but no one was hit.

Witnesses flagged down a Harris County Deputy and pointed out the suspect’s car.

The deputy began to pursue the driver but lost sight of him.

A short time later, a Metro Police Officer called the deputy and told him that he had found the suspect, who had crashed near a MetroRail on Fannin.

According to authorities, the man was driving between 90 to 100mph when he hit a curb that separates the main lanes and the MetroRail line causing him to lose control. He went across the lanes, knocked down a light pole and numerous street signs, then landed on the rail line.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition. A female passenger was not hurt.
