HOUSTON — Owning a business is part of the American dream, right? A recent study suggest if you're a minority who owns a business in Texas, you're in the right place.

The finding comes through an analysis conducted by BizCredit, which observed entrepreneurs across the country.

Carl Johnson owns the sweet shop Sugar Rush in Missouri City.

"I think Texas is a great place for minority-owned business because of the diversity of the state," Johnson said.

Houston ranked No. 5 with Dallas following close behind at No. 6. Sacramento was deemed numero uno while Washington D.C. placed second.

"In Texas, you find all different cultures and ethnic groups and they all kind of nail together,"  Johnson said.
