Two bombings in Afghanistan leave more than 20 dead

(CNN) — At least 24 people have been killed and 91 injured after two blasts near the Afghan Defense Ministry in Kabul, said Saleem Rasooli, head of Kabul hospitals.

The incident happened Monday afternoon, Afghan government spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said. He said police now have control of the area.

The Taliban are claiming responsibility.
