CHICAGO, Ill. - Looking for a free lift?

Well, the ride-sharing service Lyft wants to give you a free ride when Budweiser gets you a bit unsure of yourself.

Budweiser and Lyft are teaming up to give folks who've had one too many a little Lyft-support starting Friday and through to the end of the year. Budweisers plans to give up to 80,000 total Lyft rides.

But, wait! There's a catch.

The promotion is happening exclusively in Illinois, New York, Florida, and Colorado — which is a bummer for Texas. On the other hand, these four states were selected because they're in the top 10 list of states with drunk driving-related fatalities.

Both companies are coming together for this initiative to prevent DUI accidents.

Here's how it works. Every Thursday at 1 p.m. CST, Budweiser will share a unique code on it's Facebook and Twitter accounts. Consumers over 21 years old can then enter the Lyft app to claim a $10 free ride credit.

The first 5,000 Lyft-riders to claim those credits can use them that weekend.

Riders can only redeem one coupon per weekend, so the more hardcore partiers will have to plan ahead.

Also, the coupons are only good between the hours of 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights.

So when you hear, 'This Bud's for you,' just remember this free Lyft is, too.
