ROSENBERG, Texas — Students were forced to evacuate a Lamar Independent School District bus after one of the children set off a smoke bomb, according to district officials.

LISD officials said the bus was transporting students from Navarro Middle School, George Junior High School and Terry High School when the bomb went off. Investigators said the bus driver pulled over and all the students were forced to exit the bus.

The school said no students were injured, and once the smoke was cleared, the bus was able to finish its route.

Administrators said parents were sent a message about the incident.

“The students responsible will be subject to appropriate consequences,” LISD officials said in a statement.
