Whataburger and Texans’ fundraiser pulls in over $130K for Houston Food Bank

HOUSTON — The national Hunger Action Month is coming to an end, but two iconic Houston organizations are finishing the month with a big contribution.

Whataburger and the Houston Texans donated $135, 149 to the Houston Food Bank Thursday morning after a month-long fundraising effort. The fundraiser was aimed at raising awareness and encouraging fans to visit any of the 137 Whataburger locations across the city and donate in exchange for a a free Whataburger coupon.

Organizers said the money will used to provide 405, 447 meals to those in need.
