HOUSTON, TX - Music fans: stop, drop, and take notes! Our NewsFix music "know-it-alls" are schooling y'all on what to jam out to this fall.

First off, JJ on the Mic from 97.9 The Box, has some candy for your ears.  Her vote goes to Chance the Rapper and Solange Knowles.  "Chance the Rapper, talk about blessings! . . . He's probably one of the most genuine, real artists on the planet right now." When talking about Beyonce's sister she says "I was like anticipating Solange cause I knew it was gonna be hot and it exceeded my expectations."

Our master of sound design, Jason Morrow, knows good music when he hears it. "Currently I've been listening to the guy DJ Schmolli, he does a lot of mashups. Of course, he doesn't have any albums cause he'd have to pay tons in royalties, but he's got some really cool mashups. Revolution is a really good one, rock of ages is a really good one. He takes 23 songs and throws them all together."

Don't judge a book by its cover. Our very own, Craig Hlavaty's taste might surprise you. "I'm a country guy, I know I don't look like that . . .  Kasey Musgraves, she's a really good female country singer. She's very pretty too.. She's coming out with a Christmas album.  I know it's a little too early to be thinking about Christmas music, but I fully expect this to be one of my favorite Christmas albums of all time."

Our bald man, Grego's practicing for an upcoming gig. "Right now, I'm listening to the musicians that my band is covering songs from our big Marine Core Law Enforcement Foundation benefit in December . . .  so you can come out and join us. Gonna be a big party, something obnoxious rocks!" He's looking forward to Metallica's newest album, "Hard wire to Self Destruct" which is going to drop on Nov. 18. Old school Metallica rocks!"

There you have it. Newsfix gurus are giving you the hookup for hip hop, rock, country, heavy metal and more! Your fall Spotify playlist game is going to be strong.
