Identities released of couple, son killed in murder-suicide; young child lone survivor

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas -- Authorities have released the identities of a couple and an adult son who were killed in an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday night.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 8200 block of Aliso Canyon Lane.

According to Fort Bend County Sheriff's deputies, Ali Edris, 58, shot his wife and son before turning the gun on himself.

The wife, 33-year-old Sofya Ali, and the son, 24-year-old Edris Edris, both died at the scene.

Ali Eldris was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

An 8-year-old boy was in the home at the time of the shooting, but when he heard the shots being fired, he managed to escape and run for help.

Deputies are continuing to investigate.
