Elderly man shot after being held at gunpoint in SW Houston

HOUSTON – An elderly man was shot to death after being held at gunpoint early Saturday morning in southwest Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. at Concourse Drive and Lansdale Drive. At the time, police said it isn’t clear if the 70-year-old was coming home or leaving.

Authorities say the man was in his car when two suspects approached him and held him at gunpoint. That’s when police say the man resisted, and the suspects shot him. He died while sitting in the driver’s seat of his car.

Police said it is unclear if the suspects were trying to rob the man or steal his  car.

The case is under investigation with few details on the suspects who fled the scene.
