PASADENA, Texas — Pasadena police are searching for three people accused of robbing an elderly couple at gunpoint outside an area mall.

Investigators said an elderly couple was walking through the parking lot of a department store at the Plaza Paseo — formerly known as the Pasadena Town Square Mall — just before 5 p.m. Sept. 26 when a dark-colored 2010 Nissan Altima with a paper license plate stopped next to them. An armed man jumped out the passenger side and demanded the couple give him their purse and wallet, officers said.

Police said the couple followed his demands, the man climbed back into the car and then the vehicle sped off.

Three people were inside the car including the suspected gunman, the driver and an older woman who was sitting in the back seat, officers said. Investigators said the man in his mid to late 20s, about 6 feet tall with a thin build and shoulder length braids or dreadlocks. The driver was a heavy-set woman in her 20s and wearing large-framed eye glasses, a black shirt and blue pants, officers said. The backseat passenger is believe to be a woman in her 50s with a heavy build, a receding hairline with short hair and wearing a black print shirt with printed leggings, police said.

The two women were caught on surveillance video after shopping with the couple’s stolen credit card at a local store, police said.

Anyone with information in this robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-22-TIPS (8477). The agency is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for tips leading to charges or arrests.
