RICHMOND, Texas — A 19-year-old was arrested Thursday afternoon during a drug raid in the Waterside Estates community of Fort Bend County, officials said.

Xavier Benning is charged with manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance, money laundering, possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon. He was arrested after officers were issued a search warrant for a home in the 4600 block of Lake Pinkston Drive, the Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force said.

“We made a promise to our citizens that we would be searching for drug operations in our county, no matter how large or small,” Sheriff Troy E. Nehls said. “This case is yet another example of the work our Narcotics Task Force members are conducting to keep our communities safe.”

Benning is being held at the Fort Bend County jail. There is no bail for the controlled substance delivery and money laundering charges, but a bail of $750 each has been set for the remaining offenses, deputies said.
