HOUSTON — Investigators are trying to identify a man caught on surveillance video before a night club went up in flames in southwest Houston back in August, authorities said.

The Houston Police Department said the man broke into a night club in the 6100 block of Wilcrest Drive around 1:15 a.m.  While no deaths or serious injuries were reported, the building was damaged extensively, officers said.

Police believe the man responsible was captured on surveillance. The video shows a white or Hispanic man with a dark goatee, standing at 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 200 pounds, investigators said. Officers said he has multiple tattoos including one on his forearm, another below his elbow and one the right side of his neck.

Anyone with information in this arson case is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477). The agency is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for tips leading to an arrest or charging.
