Dallas, TX (KDAF) — A kidnapped baby girl is back home with family in Kansas after she was found in Dallas early Saturday morning.

Baby Sophia’s mother, 27-year-old Laura Abarca-Nogueda, was shot to death in Wichita, Kansas on Thursday. Two days later, a tip led authorities to a home in Dallas.

Neighbors in the 900 block of Signet tell NewsFix the rest of the story plays out like a scene in an action movie.

“It was about maybe 30, 40 guys with helmets and bulletproof vests, and they knocked the fence right behind my red truck,” David Darden explained. “I seen through the window a lady being handcuffed. They took her. My brother, he said they seen them wrap a baby up.”

Two adults were taken into custody but have not been identified.

It’s unclear if they had anything to do with the murder of Baby Sophia’s mother. But one thing is clear, this is a bittersweet ending to a really sad story.

“My pain was unbearable,” Sophia’s uncle Jose Abarca said. “But my only light at the end of the tunnel was Sophia was still there alive.”
