HOUSTON — Thanksgiving isn't just the time to hookup with your favorite side of carbs — apparently, it's also the time to hookup on Tinder.

Tinder traffic goes up significantly during the holiday weekend, the social dating app said. In fact, activity jumped 23 percent last year. And when it comes to your odds of finding a hookup this Thanksgiving, Texas is the place to look! Houston ranked No. 2 in the country, with a 41 percent increase in matches during the holiday. Dallas came in at No. 4, where your odds spike 38 percent around Turkey Day.

A sociologist with Tinder speculates the odds of finding a match go up because people return to their hometowns and are in familiar surroundings with similar people.

"Individuals who grow up in the same areas are more likely to have shared experiences, making home a great place for singles with similar values to connect,"Jess Carbino said.

Last year, there were 2.3 billion swipes during Thanksgiving time and 17 million matches made across the country. So get out there and swipe right while the odds are with you. And don't be afraid to invite that cute match back to your place for some steamy leftovers.
